Multiple Premises rating - page per premises
CompletedI would like to open a discussion re rating of multiple premises risks within schemeserve. There are a few options as far as I can see each with it's own pros and cons. I will share some of my ideas her and would welcome any comments or suggestions as to how to get round the problems.
1. Add a new page per premises (Predefined in the question set).
- Each new premises page could be triggered by a question on the first page asking for the number of premises to be insured.
Pro's:
a) This would allow for a set number of premises to be added to a single case.
b) The rating would be simple as we could repeat rating sections for each premises depending on the number selected. Each premises could be in it's own risk group giving the ability to split premium easily with a main section(s) containing the "All premises" rating.
c) Documents would be simple using the conditional inclusion method within ## markers.
d) Referrals (rules) would be fairly straightforward.
Cons:
a) Bordereau reports would be difficult to format (although not impossible using an external report formatter)
b) Adjustments would become difficult to manage when adding and removing premises.
c) Allowing for more than 10 or so premises could become too complex and I would be concerned with the potential speed implications.
d) Difficult to apply endorsements per premises without a change to Schemeserve
2. Use a table to capture address, SI and SOF information adding a new line per premises.
- Each premises could be added as a row in a table.
Pro's:
a) Simple to control the question set.
b) Unlimited number of premises
c) Should be straightforward to create/format reports
Cons:
a) A very limited amount of information would be available per premises in the current table format making it unusable for most schemes. In order to make this method work there would be changes required to tables to allow either multi line tables or tables which are dependent on other tables in some way.
b) Difficult to format documents without changes to Schemeserve.
3) Link multiple cases under one client and expand the system functionality to allow the linking of multiple schemes and creation of docs etc at client level.
This would probably infolve the most Schemeserve changes but end up with the most user friendly and functional result. The idea would be create multiple "Cases" linked by a single client and enable the cases to be included in a single document.
Using this method. separate schemes could be set up and linked together to create one multi premises or multi product case whilst also keeping each part separate.
I look forward to comments positive or negative.
Best regards,
Mark

Mark has raised an excellent feature request here, and in all honesty i thought this would have already been done or planned. As we specialise in Property owners insurance we often see at least one portfolio of multi premises a day, and at present we cannot offer one policy to include all risks. Meaning a very long-winded process of locating / searching for risks.
As Mark as indicated above we only need to duplicate the premises specific information, as a lot of the data regarding the insured i.e claims history correspondence address DOB etc.. Will remain the same.
Although i must say we can see up to 100 properties for one policy therefore i wouldn't want to see a cap to the amount of risks added to one policy.
I really hope we can see this implemented.
Kindest regards
Ben

We have many blocks of flats on cover that have multiple tenancies in each flat, at present because the system cannot do multiple tenancies on one policy we have to individually cover each flat seperatly. This becomes very time consuming for staff but clients hate having so much paperwork. If one client had 2 blocks of flats with 6 in each block thats 12 individual schedules we would have to produce, surely something can be done?
