Post Quote Questions to be asked AFTER the Quote
Not plannedI know there is a feature request for: "Facility for Post Quote questions to affect premium" but what is perhaps more urgent is for the post quote questions to be asked after a quote (so post quote).
I have just tried using post quote questions for the first time and was a little disappointed to see that these questions were actually required to get a quote in the first place. The questions in mind do not affect the premium (which is what Brian Traynor seems to be after in the above feature request).
For example we need the client to enter all the questions regarding the rating in order to get a quotation but avoid having to answer all their personal details unless they wish to go ahead with the quotation... (bearing in mind the client can soon/now bypass the client information page with Java).
I believe this is what people were angling for in the questions forum: "Post Quote Question - When are they asked?" but a feature request was not raised. So here it is.....

This is exactly what we need, effectively we need a quick quote / indication function at the front end that will allow a user to proceed to SOF, We have recently discovered our agents what an indication of premium that requires a postcode building / contents sum insured occupancy / tenancy and a few material questions that would effect the premium, like Grade listed, flat roof.
As they do not want to complete a SOF just to loss the client due to uncompetitive premium etc.. They are happy to fill in an SOF if they get an order. -
Hi Daniel.
I'm sorry this is causing problems for you. Unfortunately, the area of post quote questions needs a significant re-think in order to work as you'd like; it's not a quick fix I'm afraid.
We do have plans for this area but they are at a very early stage right now so we can't make any promises.
The Get Quote process is a very delicate area of SchemeServe; we have to be extra especially careful not to make changes without thorough planning or it could cause problems for all the companies using SchemeServe to run their day-to-day businesses.
It's important to us that when we do re-engineers any area of SchemeServe that we get it right for all users in all the differing ways that they use the software, which the forum helps with as everything is seen in the open for all users to vote and give comment on.
I'm very keen to hear from everyone right now as to how they would like this to work in an ideal world. Would they like chasers to be sent when 'post-quote' questions are not yet completed? Will they need the facility to resend chasers? Automatically/manually? Should we rename the new Post Quote questions to Post Cover questions (I'm assuming that some users would lament the loss of Post Quote entirely). If we did all of the above, would we still need to go ahead and make it so Post Quote questions can affect the premium? If yes, will we need Post Quote and Post Cover matrices and new libraries of rules? In the questions editor, will the new Post Quote questions get their own area like the old ones did, or would a tick box be better on any question to say 'Not needed until Post Quote'? Will we ask Post Quote and Post Cover questions at Renewal and MTA and how should they be managed. On the View Case>Summary screen, how should Post Cover questions be displayed?
Sorry to blast you with all these questions but would be good to get feedback from the community. This is a very big area and I'd like to come up with a solution for the future that works for everyone.
Best wishes,
Adam

I wonder whether the best solution here is not to change when 'post quote' questions are asked - many users need them to work as they do currently - but rather to rename them to 'Full Quote' questions AND implement this feature request: http://support.admnetwork.com/entries/20920678-ability-to-change-enter-certain-questions-when-status-is-changed-to-on-cover
