Rule-Builder validation of dates/years.

Hi Guys,

I've got 2 separate questions: one is date of claim, the other is NCD.

I need to add validation such that one doesn't disagree with the other.

For example, if I have NCD as 4 years, but my claim date was 2009, it should refer because I made the claim 2 years ago yet I'm claiming 4 years NCD.

If I have NCD as 4 years but my claim date was 2006, that is acceptable as I made the claim 5 years ago.

The "Years Since" code doesn't seem to allow comparison to another field, only a constant value.

How can I get around this?

  Hi Paul,

  I don't think you can do comparison of fields in the rule builder.

  Rob will pick this up when he returns from holiday but as I say I am pretty sure you cannot do this.

  Can you not create extra conditions using both of the fields to check that both criteria are met ?

  Hi Paul,

   

  I think you may have to create a list of individual rules comparing the NCD with the Claim Date

   

  i.e IF NCD equals 4 years and Claim Date 2009 Refer

  IF NCD equals 4 years and Claim Date 2006 - Accept - So it would not need a rule

  You should be able to work out what combination of NCD and Claim Years needs referring
