NTU'd mid term adjustment ... how to renew record without deleting

"Hi, hoping someone can offer some advice.

We have come across a situation where we want to invite renewal on a policy, however, the policy has an NTU'd mid-term adjustment record attached preventing us. Whilst the adjustment did not go ahead, we did not really want to delete the entire adjustment record as we would like to keep it for history/record purposes.

Has anyone come across this situation and if yes what was the best way you found to workaround it?
