Formula to check for endorsements

It would be useful to check for endorsements in formulas. For example something along the lines of : 
IF([Underwriting.Memorandum]='','no','yes') 

I'd like to use this in documents to either list endorsements or state "there are no endorsements applicable to this policy"

  It is becoming increasingly important under FCA guidelines to detail any significant exclusions to the standard policy in covering letters etc. Without this functionality, it is not possible to state clearly in a covering letters that no significant exclusions apply.
