Financial Sanctions
CompletedThe FSA requier intermediaries to search every new client against the HM treasury Sanction list and provide confirmation that this has been done. Therefore we would like a facility to cross check every new client against this list and have some form of confirmation that this has been done.
Many thanks

www.sanctionssearch.com is probably a good bet and has an API which could be integrated by means of the prototype/javascript feature.

Denis,
Take a look at http://www.sanctionssearch.com/Content/faqs
They mention a web interface and speak about API's on other locations within the website. You will need to get in touch with them for pricing on large amounts of data or using the API.
Cheers.

Hi Denis,
Glad to see you're working on something, the competition ends soon!
Coincidentally, SanctionSearch just called me! They'd heard about SchemeServe a few months back and have been trying to get in touch but I didn't realize it was them! :op
I will have full API details soon and a developer contact which I'll send over to you.
Best wishes,
Adam

Hi Adam,
We currently use sanctionssearch manually and find it very user friendly. It automatically advises you when the database is updated and whether any previous searches are affected. I was just wondering whether any progress has been made regarding adding this feature.

A Film and Media Underwriting Agency mentioned that Lloyds Coverholder unit require that all policyholders are checked against relevant Sanction databases.
Attached is a downloaded July 2012 excel spreadheet list from HM treasury website (available on http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/fin_sanctions_index.htm). It is regularly updated and new names can be notified by email to be added to keep the table up to date.
There does not seem to be any API linkage possible.
Peter Montanaro, Head of Delegated Authorities at Lloyds Delegated Authorities Performance Management Directorate has created an agreement with the previously mentioned (see other comments) firm called Sanctions Search (https://sanctionssearch.com/) and is part funding Lloyds Coverholders using this firm. See attached pdf file.
I am not sure that we need to do that for UK SchemeServe holders as creating a lookup table within SchemeServe may be sufficient. The major requirement will be to provide an audit trail evidencing that the search has been undertaken.
In cases where SchemeServe is being used to underwrite non UK business (eg inward business from rest of world to UK agency or local business written in other territories) SchemeServe users will need to think about how best to look up local databases (Australia!).
Whatever we do we need to think about for our next release as it will be requested more frequently.

Hi All
Just as an update the API for SanctionsSearch.com is now live and ready to use. If anyone wants to have access to build and test please contact us so we can set up a dummy account and issue you with a token to use.
Once deployed the client would use their own token from their SanctionsSearch account.
It does both the initial screen and allows for the re-screens to be pulled back into your system for reconciliation by the firms staff.
In the months to come more features will be added to the site and in turn the API.
Hope this helps ;-)

Chris

Hi Mark
API is still available but is currently being re-built to include all the new stuff we have launched in the last 12 months. We anticipate that the new schema will be ready around the end of August.
If you drop us an email we can make sure you are notified with all the details on release.
Cheers

Hi Mark
Yes it is the end of August but the end of August I mentioned in a previous post was a Dev August not necessarily an actual August lol.
The latest is we are looking mid September for a beta launch with documentation so message me around then and we should be nearly there.
The issue is whilst we are rebuilding the API we are also cramming loads of new stuff into it and the time is taken anticipating all the many ways our stakeholders with come up with to actually break it. Furthermore we are also trying to put together far better documentation to make it easier to deploy and use.
